話題になっている人とすると自然な英語になると思います。
person of the hourで「時の人」という意味になります。
何か特別な理由で興味関心の中心となっている人のことです。
man of the hourやwoman of the hourとも言います。
man of the hourが一番良く使われています。

Someone who is famous is called a celebrity. If they maintain their popularity for many years they are called A list celebrity but if they are not so popular, we call them Z list celebrities.
Sometimes an music artist can produce a song that makes them instantly famous but after that their popularity fades. That is called a 'one hit wonder.'
In a similar way, a one hit wonder can also be described as a flash in the pan.

有名な人のことを a celebrity といいます。
長年人気の有名人は、 A list celebrity といいますが、あまり人気のない人のことは Z list celebrityといいます。
ある曲でブレイクしたけど、それ以降あまり人気を保てなかったアーティストもいますね。そんなアーティストのことは one hit wonder と呼びます。
