※もちろん、containを使うことは全く問題ないのですが、ちょっと気を付けないと、「入っている→contain」という回路を脳は作ってしまいます。“携帯どこ？”→“バッグに入ってるよ”、“ケーキは冷蔵庫に入ってるよ” のように日本語では“入っている”を使いますが、これらの例ではcontainは使えません。つまり、「入っている＝contain」という情報処理回路は作らない方が良いということです。contain→co(n)（共に）＋tain（保つ）という意味ですので、ただ何かに“入っている”のではなく、“全体として共に含まれている”イメージがcontainですね。日本語いうタッパーの様な容器はcontainer です。

最初にアレルギーがある、とはっきり伝えた方がいいですよね。
○○が入っていないというのは○○free とも言います。

When you have an allergy or allergies you will have to check what ingredients some meals and drinks contain when eating out.
to ask if a meal has something in it you are allergic too you will ask "Does this meal contain...(allergy)" meaning does it have the thing you are allergic too in there.
