Canを使用した表現として、 Can I ~? Can you ~? ex) ten more minutes あと10分 / three more days あと3日 ご参考になれば幸いです。

Can I extend my lesson 5 minutes? 「聞きたいことがもう少しあります」→ I still have some more questions; I still have some more things I want to ask.

Are you able to spare me 5 more minutes of your time, I would like to ask you something?-To spare 5 more minutes it means to give 5 more minutes. This means that you would like the teacher to give you 5 more minutes. Can I please have 5 minutes, I have burning question?- If you have burning question it means that it cannot wait. You would like to know the answer as soon as possible.
Are you able to spare me 5 more minutes of your time, I would like to ask you something? -To spare 5 more minutes Can I please have 5 minutes, I have burning question?

  • Woul it be possible to overrun the lesson a little please teacher?

  • Teacher, would it be possible to continue the lesson for an extra few minutes?

Overrun means to extend over or beyond the usual or allocated norm. "Let the text overrun the right-hand margin." Depending on the teacher's timetable, there may or may not be some free time at the end of the lesson, so your teacher will advise you: "Teacher, would it be possible to continue the lesson for an extra few minutes?" "Yes, no problem. I'm free for five minutes before my next lesson."
"Let the text overrun the right-hand margin." 「テキストが右側のマージンを超える」 講師のタイムスケジュールによってレッスンの最後にフリータイムがあったりなかったりします: (英文)"Teacher, would it be possible to continue the lesson for an extra few minutes?" "Yes, no problem. I'm free for five minutes before my next lesson."

  • Would you spare 5 minutes please, as I want to ask you something?

If you extend something it means to make it go on for longer so if you want an extra 5 minutes on the lesson then you would ask 'Could you extend the lesson by 5 extra minutes?' or 'Would you extend the lesson by 5 extra minutes?' You would add please on the end to be polite To spare 5 minutes asks if they have the time so you could say 'Would you spare 5 minutes please, as I want to ask you something?' this explains why you need the extra time
'Could you extend the lesson by 5 extra minutes?' 5分レッスンを延長できますか? 'Would you extend the lesson by 5 extra minutes?' 5分レッスンを延長してくれませんか? ですから、 'Would you spare 5 minutes please, as I want to ask you something?'(聞きたいことがあるので、5分時間をもらえませんか?)

  • Can we please keep going for 5 more minutes?

  • Can we please go on for 5 more minutes?

The two questions you see provided above are great ways to ask your teacher if they can extend your lesson 5 minutes longer than normal. In the first question you will notice the term keep going and in the second question you will notice the term go on. Both of these terms mean to continue. These terms are common in our everyday conversation and they would make great additions to your vocabulary.

  • I do have a quick question for you

To show respect for someones time is highly valued. To acknowledge it as a valuable commodity will be well received. A question that is 5 minutes or so would be deemed a quick question and most people would not see it as an inconvienience.
