  • What is the total price?

①How much is the total? 合計でいくらですか? How muchは口語的でカジュアルな表現となります。 ②What is the total price? 合計の価格は何ですか? price:価格、値段 商品や品物に対して支払わなければならない価格、値段となります。 値段ではcostもよく使われると思いますが、違いとしては、 priceが商品や品物に対しての価格、値段を表すのに対し、 costは何かを購入する時や生産する時などに支払わなければならない費用を表します。 【例】market price 市場価格 【例】the cost of production 生産費 ご参考になれば幸いです。

So you have a budget to spend. You are going around the store and buying various things. You do not want to overspend...and there is one more nice item you would like to buy. You could ask: "Could you give me the total so far?" If you intend to continue shopping, you could use the word 'interim' in your question, which means that this will not be the final figure. Interim: in or for the intervening period; provisional. "An interim arrangement"
いくらか予算があって、色んなものを店で買おうとしてます。あまり余計なお金は使いたくない。そしてそんなときにもう一品欲しいものを見つけたあなたはこう尋ねることができるでしょう。 "Could you give me the total so far?" 今合計いくらですか? もしまだ買い物を続けるのなら、interim (暫定)という言葉を使って表現することもできます。 例:"An interim arrangement"

  • I will pay up now, what's the damage for all this?

Since there are many items that you have bought, it is obvious that the price of each item will have to be added up to arrive at the total amount to be paid. The word 'amount' functions both as a noun and a verb. In this case, it has been used as a noun meaning 'a sum of money'. So, you may ask: What is the total amount I have to pay? or How much do they all cost in total? In the last line, you have used the word 'damage' which functions both as a noun and a verb. In this case, it has been used as a noun. It has several meanings, but in this context, it has been used to ask for the cost of all the items you have bought. So, you may ask: I will pay up now, what's the damage for all this?
あなたが購入した商品はたくさんあるため各商品の値段は支払いのために合計されなければならないことは明らかです。"Amount"という単語は名詞と動詞どちらでも機能します。この場合は合計金額という意味の名詞として用いられています。 したがって次のように尋ねることができます: What is the total amount I have to pay? (私が支払わなければならない合計金額はいくらですか) または How much do they all cost in total? (合計金額はいくらですか) 最後の文では名詞と動詞どちらでも機能する単語"damage"を使用しました。この場合は名詞として用いられました。複数の意味がありますがこの文脈ではあなたが購入した商品の合計金額を尋ねるために使用されました。 したがって次のように尋ねることができます: I will pay up now, what's the damage for all this? (今から支払います。これらの合計金額はいくらですか?)

"Grand total" is another way to say the cost of everything that is to be purchased. It is commonly used after the items have been scanned in by a clerk. A very informal way to ask about the cost of several items is to refer to the items as "all of this."

  • How much do I owe?

Use the sentences above to enquire about the total cost of your purchase. At the end of your shopping, you can ask the teller/cashier how much you owe for the items you have taken off the shelves. She/he will give you an exact amount that you need to pay and you will then decide on a method of payment, cash or card, sometimes vouchers or coupons. Owe: being in a position where you have to pay for something "Thank you, how much does it all amount to?" "I will be paying by cash, please" "I have a voucher, I will use it to pay for this purchase."
これらの文は、全部でいくらになるかを確認するのに使うことができます。 買い物の終わりに、レジの人にかごにいれた商品がいくらになるかを聞くことができます。正確な金額を伝えてくれ、あなたは現金かカード、バウチャーやクーポンなどどのように支払うのかを決めなければなりません。   Owe: 支払わなければいけないこと "Thank you, how much does it all amount to?" (ありがとうございます。全てでいくらになりますか?) "I will be paying by cash, please" (現金で支払います。) "I have a voucher, I will use it to pay for this purchase." (バウチャーがあります。この買い物に使います。)
