これから家帰るの? 今実際に何かしているわけではなく、今まさに何かしようとしている時、こういったときも現在進行形は使われます。 Are you about to go home? 今まさに帰るところなの? こういう言い方もできますが、これから仕事頼もうとしてたのに帰っちゃうの? にも聞こえます。言い方次第なんですけどね。

Sometimes, when speaking informally, people leave out a lot of words and just say the most important words in the sentence. If it's a question, like this case, they will use a rising tone at the end of the sentence to indicate that this is a questions and they expect an answer from you, even if you only say "Yeah, bye" or "See you tomorrow."
インフォーマルな会話では、必要な言葉以外は省いてしまうことがあります。この場合のように質問なら、質問と分かるように文の最後のトーンを上げます。たとえ、"Yeah, bye"(うん、またね)や"See you tomorrow"(また明日)だけだったとしても、相手の答えを求めています。

I would ask a friend or colleague if they're leaving by asking: Are you off home? Are you going home now? Are you off home? Will you be going home now?
私なら次のように友達や同僚にこれから帰るのか尋ねます: Are you off home? 家に帰るの? Are you going home now? 家に帰るの? Are you off home? 家に帰るの? Will you be going home now? 家に帰るのですか?

1) Are you heading home now? 今から帰るところなの? head~ は ~に行く/~に向かう という意味です。カジュアルな表現です。 I'm heading to the gym for a bit ちょっとジムに行ってくる I'll head towards you when I'm finished eating 食べ終わったらそっちに向かう 2) Are you done for the day? 今日は終わったの? これもカジュアルな表現です。Are you done? は 終わった?/やり終わった?という意味です。

The two questions you see provided above are excellent ways to ask someone if they are going home. In the second sentence you will see the phrase make one's way. This means to go. This a term that is appropriate for informal settings, like talking with close friends or family. It would make a great addition to your vocabulary.
上記例文はどちらとも「帰宅するのか否か」について相手に尋ねるときに使える文章です。 二つ目の文章に、"make one's way"というフレーズがありますが、これは「行く」という意味です。親しい友人や家族と話すときのうようなカジュアルな場面で使います。あなたのボキャブラリーに追加すると良いと思います。

"Are you heading home?" If we use the expression "heading home" means "on the way/or your way home".
"Are you heading home?"(今から家に帰るの?) "heading home"は"on the way/your way home"(家に帰る途中)という意味です。
