例: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hold on, I gotta grab my cell. ちょっと待って。携帯を取ってくるね。 Anyone seen my cell? 誰か私の携帯見てない? Aw, crud. Stepped on my cell. しまったー。携帯を[踏んでしまった](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/57522/)。 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ イギリス英語圏においては、「cell」よりも「mobile」(「mobile phone」の略)が使われている印象だったんですが、 本場の方にお答えしていただいた方が確実かと・・・。

ヨーロッパ圏はmobileが圧倒的に多いです!私はマルタに住んでいますが、cell phoneと言う人に一度も会っていません。 What's your mobile?

I'll text you. の様な感じです。携帯でアドレスからメールをする習慣は、自分の住んでいた国ではありませんでした。

In the UK many people refer to their mobile phone as just "phone". People also use their landlines (home telephones) but this usage has decreased since the popularity of mobile phones has increased. "Have you seen my phone?", "I love my new phone", "What type of phone do you have?" are also regular expressions used. "Mobile" is a little bit more specific and is also used commonly. "iPhone / Blackberry" refers to the model of the phone but is used especially when a group of people all have different types of phones.
イギリスでは、ケータイを "phone" と言う人が多いです。固定電話も使いますが、ケータイの普及で使う人が減っています。 「Have you seen my phone?(私のケータイ見た?)」、「I love my new phone(新しいケータイ気に入ってる)」、「What type of phone do you have?(何の機種使ってる?)」、よく使う表現です。 "mobile" は "phone" よりも少し「specific(明確な、具体的な)」です、これもよく使われます。 "iPhone / Blackberry" はケータイの機種です、特にグループでみんな違う種類のケータイを持っている時に使われます。

The term, "cell phone", is a common name for a person's cellular phone. In fact, the term is simply a shorten version of the formal term, "cellular phone". The term, "iPhone", can of course be used for the very popular Apple product. There is no need to say, "iPhone cell phone", because it is common knowledge that an iPhone is a type of cell phone. The term, "phone", is also a very common name for a cell phone. Many people nowadays have cell phones and do not have home phones anymore, so if you use this term, most people will understand that you are referring to a cell phone.
 "cell phone"とは、携帯電話のことを指します。実は、これは 正式には "cellular phone"でその省略がcell phoneとなります。 "iPhone"は、アップル社のとても人気のある製品です。iPhoneは、携帯の種類として一般的に知られているので、"iPhone cell phone"と言う必要はありません。   "phone"も携帯として広く使われます。多くの人が最近では、携帯を持っていて、家の電話を持っていません。ですので、この言葉を使うなら、たいていの人が携帯を指しているということがわかるでしょう。

In England, the most common word is simply 'phone'. This is a little confusing because it is used as both the noun and the verb. For example, "Have you seen my phone?" is using "phone" as a noun to state the object they are looking for. But, "I am going to phone Jill." is referring to the action of calling somebody.
イングランドでは最も一般的な言い方はシンプルに 'phone' です。 少しややこしいのですが、'phone' は名詞としても動詞としても使われます。 例えば、 "Have you seen my phone?"(私の携帯見なかった?) では、"phone" は名詞として使われていますが、 "I am going to phone Jill."(ジルに電話します) では、「電話をする」という行為を表しています。
