Please go ahead and eat. You don't have to wait. You can start eating without me.

  • Please go ahead and eat dinner.

go ahead and eat dinnerは、先に食べててというニュアンスにとても近いです。

You may be late for an office party in the local restaurant. You are not sure if you will be a few minutes or a couple of hours late. You call your friend: "The meal is scheduled for 730 pm isn't it?" "Yes, that's right." "Well just to let you know, I'm going to be late arriving so please start the meal without me." "OK, thanks for letting me know!"
: "The meal is scheduled for 730 pm isn't it?" "Yes, that's right." "Well just to let you know, I'm going to be late arriving so please start the meal without me." "OK, thanks for letting me know!"

  • Start without me.

I’ll catch you up – You use this phrase if you do not want the person to wait in situations like shopping, walking/running ahead. You’ll catch them up so you won’t be long behind them but it’s unnecessary to wait. “Go ahead, I’ll catch you up in a bit”. “Don’t wait up”. Start without me – You can use this phrase for many actions – eating, watching a movie, exercise, etc. It is a simple way to say ‘don’t wait for me’.
"I’ll catch you up – 買い物している時や散歩/ジョギングなどの時、連れの人に 「待たなくていいよ。 “Go ahead, I’ll catch you up in a bit”(先行ってて、すぐ追いつくから。).

  • Please go ahead and eat.

You do not have to wait for me to eat. Go ahead and eat. You can go sleep so long. Don't wait up for me. You can eat. I will eat later.

  • Please go ahead and eat, I will join you later.

    play icon

  • Please start off on the trip, I will follow you.

    play icon

  • You may go to sleep, I will sleep later.

    play icon

In the first statement, you are politely asking the other person to go ahead and eat, and that you will join him/her later. The message here is that he/she should not wait for you. So, you may say: Please go ahead and eat, I will join you later. Say you and your friend are about to go to go on a trip, but you have just remembered you need to do a couple of things before going, you may say to your friend: Please start off on the trip, I will follow you. Suppose your spouse is feeling sleepy and would like to go to bed now. You may say to him/he:r: You may go to sleep, I will sleep later.
よって次のように言うことができます: "Please go ahead and eat, I will join you later." "Please start off on the trip, I will follow you." あなたは彼または彼女に次のように言うことができます: "You may go to sleep, I will sleep later."
