feel bad for と feel sorry for は、「（人を）かわいそうに思う」という意味になります。
Give me some money.「お金ちょうだい」はとても直接的な表現ですが、そこをあいまいにしたいなら help me out「ちょっと手伝う」などがおすすめ。

Change is the name given for money which is in coins, and are worth less than paper bank notes. Help me out is a common casual phrase used when wanting help from someone.

This is another way of asking for help. Asking this way shows sympathy towards the person and is a bit more respectful. This is showing that you are being considerate to their funds and if they have anything extra they can give or donate to your cause. I hope this helps out!
This expression I think would be the closest one that you would find to the equivalent of the Japanese phrase on the TV show. You could also theoretically replace "sorry" with "pity."
