  • Please come back after an hour the manager on duty/supervisor is not available at the moment.

Please come back after an hour the manager on duty/supervisor is not available at the moment. - This is a polite way to say that the person who in charge is not available and they can come back later so that they can be assisted.
Please come back after an hour the manager on duty/supervisor is not available at the moment. -

  • Hi, the supervisor is out. Can you come back after an hour.

▪Hi, the Manager is not here. Can you come back after lunch. This is saying that the person in charge (manager) is not here and that he/she should come back after lunch. ▪Hi, the supervisor is out. Can you come back after "an hour". This sentence can be used when you know how long the person in charge will be out. ●
▪Hi, the Manager is not here. Can you come back after lunch. ▪Hi, the supervisor is out. Can you come back after "an hour". ●

  • The manager's not here. Could you call back later please?

  • There's nobody available to help you at the moment. Would you mind calling back?

    play icon

Explanation and context example:- Everyone is entitled to a lunch break. So it should be no surprise to anyone calling during this period of time that nobody is able, or willing, to speak to them! A very typical explanation would be: "The manager's not here. Could you call back later please? " or, if you do not wish to identify anyone who may speak to the visitor, you could just say: "There's nobody available to help you at the moment. Would you mind calling back?"
典型的な説明: "The manager's not here. Could you call back later please? " (責任者が不在です。後ほどかけなおしていただけますか?) または、お客さんに誰という事を特定されたくなければ、次のように言う事も出来ます。 "There's nobody available to help you at the moment. Would you mind calling back?"

  • Please come back after lunch....The person in charge will be available then...

TIming is everything and sometimes we can be too early or too late to make a connection with ...a supervisor or manager (especially during lunch break!) You can politely advise the caller of the reality of the situation...like this:-D "Please come back after lunch....The person in charge will be available then..."
このような現実的な状況では、相手に丁寧に次のように伝えることが出来ます:-D 【例】 "Please come back after lunch....The person in charge will be available then..."

To 'come back later' means to return at a later timeand wait a little while by saying 'the manager is not here/not available' explains why they need to come back
'the manager is not here/not available'(責任者がいない)は、もう一度出直さなければならない理由を説明します。

  • can I take a message for the manager?

    play icon

"Could you come back" is asking them to return later when the manager or person they need to speak to will be present. "can I take a message" is asking them if they can tell you what they wish to speak to the manager about so you can ask the manager to get in touch with them when the manager is available.
"Could you come back" は、上司など目的の人がいるときにもう一度来て欲しいと伝えています。 "Can I take a message" では、上司がその人に連絡できるように「メッセージを預かりましょうか」と尋ねています。

  • If youd like to speak to a manager you will need to come back later.

  • The manager is on a lunch break

The manager is on a lunch break. If youd like to speak to a manager you will need to come back later. The person in charge is not in. Sometimes when we are working the manager may not be in. So you can try and de-escolate and try and assist. "The manger is not in, but I can try and assist. Or you can come back at a later time".
The manager is on a lunch break.(責任者は今昼休みです) If you'd like to speak to a manager you will need to come back later.(責任者と話したいなら、後でもう一度来ていただかなければなりません) The person in charge is not in.(責任者が今不在です) 仕事では時に責任者が不在のことがあると思います。 "The manger is not in, but I can try and assist. Or you can come back at a later time".
