When describing the times that have not yet come the day following today is called tomorrow. 2 days from today is called the day after tomorrow. 3 days from now would be just called the day of the week or at the date in the month. For example, the 25th or this Thursday. As you get further into the future you can describe it as next week, 2 months from now, 3 years from now, in 2023, a decade from now and so on

If Today is Monday and you want to talk about Thursday, here are some example sentences. Eg. "I'll see you in three days." Eg "We will be in Majorca three days from now." Eg. "We can stop work in three days time and start thinking about our holiday."

The day after tomorrow: is referred to two days time. For example; Today is Monday, and I am talking about Wednesday. Wednesday would be the day after tomorrow. There is no "The day after the day after tomorrow" in the English language as it is too complicated to say. So we say within three days time or in three days or three days from now. You can also say if today is Monday and you want to talk about Thursday; "Let's meet this Thursday." This Thursday being in three days time.

When we are talking about a future event we can say "In a days time" if it is one day away "In a couple of days" In this sentence 'couple' means two - therefore it means in two days time. When we are talking about more than two days away it is best to give the actual day. For example It is Monday today and you are talking about an event that is going to occur on Thursday you would say. "On Thursday this week we are going to the fair". By adding in "this week" you are more specific. You have have specified the actual day and told the person that it will be 'this' week (the current week you are in. If you said "On Thursday next week we are going to the fair", you are still giving the day of the week but 'next week' is the following week. When organising an event or a meeting it is sometimes better to be really specific to avoid any confusion. So you could say " On Thursday the 16th of August, this week, we are going to the fair" There is no room for misinterpretation.

The easiest way to describe which day you are talking by saying "the day after Wednesday (or any day of the week you want)". When you use an expression like "the day after the day after tomorrow" it can be confusing to the listener.

You can simply say "two days from now". Using this common expression the listener will automatically count two days from whatever today is. The phrase "in two days" can also be used to begin or end a statement to specify that the timing will be the day after the day after tomorrow. "In a couple of days" is a statement that can answer a question of when or a phrase that can begin or end a statement when the timing is in a couple or 2 days.
