  • Just because I work for an English-related company doesn't mean I'm good at speaking English.

Just because 〜doesn't mean 〜 を覚えておくと非常に便利です。 Just because I have been abroad doesn't mean I can speak English very well.

  • Just because I work for an English-related company, it doesn't mean I can speak English.

  • Even though I work for an English-related company, I cannot speak English (well).

Just because people live overseas, it doesn't mean they can speak the language. (海外に住んでるからってその国の言葉が話せるとは限らない) Just because I am in IT, it doesn't mean I know programming well.

  • It's a falacy to think that speaking English is necessary because my company is English education related.

  • Not everyone who works for Toyota can build a car engine!

You work at an English education related company, but you don't speak English. You want to say that just because you work at an English related company doesn't mean you can speak English. Well, you can either answer the question simply - as in the first example - or sarcastically, as in the second.

  • It does not mean that I can speak English if I work for an English education related company.

  • I wish I could speak English because I work for and English related company.

->It does not mean that I can speak English if I work for an English education related company. It does not mean = Do not assume or do not think ... The sentence explains that even if you work for an English related company people should not assume that everyone speaks English at the company. ->I wish I could speak English because I work for and English related company. This is saying indirectly that you cannot speak English and you work for and English related company. This means, in the beginning of the sentence you say you cannot speak English and you would really like to because you work for and English related company.
->It does not mean that I can speak English if I work for an English education related company. It does not mean = ~でというわけではない、~とは限らない   ->I wish I could speak English because I work for and English related company.

Sometimes where we work doesn't always mean we are good at that thing so even if you work for an English company does not mean you are good at speaking English

  • I may work at an English education company, but I do not speak the language.

  • I do not speak English even though I do work at an English education company.

  • My job at an English education company doesn't require me to be able to speak the language.

I may work at an English education company, but I do not speak the language. I do not speak English even though I do work at an English education company. My job at an English education company doesn't require me to be able to speak the language. I don't speak English although I do work at an English education company.
I may work at an English education company, but I do not speak the language. I do not speak English even though I do work at an English education company. My job at an English education company doesn't require me to be able to speak the language. I don't speak English although I do work at an English education company.

  • My working at an English education company doesn't point to me being able to speak the language.

  • Just because I work at an English education company, it doesn't conclude that I speak English.

  • Yes, I work at an English education company, what does that have to do with me speaking the language?

Assumptions can be annoying and distracting. It is always good to ask instead of assuming first. You can work at a company that is related to a language that isn't your mother tongue. There are many different roles within a company that will allow you to contribute in many ways without needing to communicate in the said language. Said: in this example, it means something that was already mentioned (Ie English.) Mother tongue: first language.
