味の感想を聞く時は How was it? A: What did you have for lunch? B: I had a meat sauce spaghetti. A: How was it ? B: It was pretty good. What did you have for ...

What did you have for lunch? と言う時は"Have your breakfast."より"Eat your breakfast." 1. Did you eat your lunch at your desk? Where did you go for lunch? What time are you going to take a lunch break? Can I leave my desk for a quick bite?

What did you ~ for lunch? Where did you eat lunch? Where did you go for lunch?

Most people do feel hungry by the time it is lunch hour and will want to eat something. Your coworker will definitely have eaten something during lunch hour. But, what was it? The preposition 'during' means 'throughout the course or duration of (a period of time)'. In this case, it is throughout the lunch hour time. So, you may ask: What did you eat during lunch? The noun 'dish' used in the second question has several meanings, but, in this context, it means 'the food contained or served in a dish'. So, you may ask: What dish did you have for lunch? Oh! I had a dish of steaming pork chops.
前置詞'during'は、 'throughout the course or duration of (a period of time)'(一定の時間・期間を通して)という意味です。 What did you eat during lunch? What dish did you have for lunch?(お昼は何を食べたの?) Oh! I had a dish of steaming pork chops.(蒸したポークチョップだよ)

The most simple way to ask would be to just say "What did you eat for lunch?" then to be polite ask if it was nice.
