(文字制限の関係で2行に分かれています) I'm running late 「遅刻しそうです」 Could you wait for me at Starbucks? The coffee is on me. The dinner is on me. 「ディナーはわたしのおごりです」 It's on me! 「おごる」は他にも It's my treat.

  • Could you wait a bit for me at Starbucks? I will pay for the drink.

Could you wait a bit for me at Starbucks? I will pay for the drink. Could you wait a bitは「少しだけ待ってもらえる?」 「おごる」は pay for...(何々を払う)もしくは、it is on meを使います。

It's on me. It's my treat.

Running late' doesn't have anything to do with running, but it suggests you are rushing to make your next appointment. "I'm running late for my next meeting!" 'On me' means you have offered to pay for something. "Drinks are on me!" 'I'll sort you out' is British English slang for arranging or resolving something out. If you are angry, 'sort you out' means you intend to have a fight and possibly even hit someone! So don't use it when you are angry or annoyed, unless you really mean it! It can be used in a variety of way, for example: "Don't worry if you forgot your wallet, I'll sort you out tonight" "This essay is a mess, I need some help. Can you help me sort this out?" "I'm so angry, I'm going to sort him out when I see him!"
【例】 "I'm running late for my next meeting!" 【例】 "Drinks are on me!" 【例】 "Don't worry if you forgot your wallet, I'll sort you out tonight" (大丈夫、あなたが財布を忘れても私が何とかするから) "This essay is a mess, I need some help. Can you help me sort this out?" "I'm so angry, I'm going to sort him out when I see him!"

To say to your friend you are running late you would say 'Sorry i'm running late' If you are saying to go and get a coffee you could use 'grab a coffee' 'On me!' means that you will pay
「On me!」

When you are running late for a date, and want to apologize and tell the person to wait at Starbucks (while you are paying for the bill), you can say: "Sorry, can you wait at Starbucks for me? I'll pay." "Sorry I'm running late, can you meet me at Starbucks? The bill is on me."
"Sorry, can you wait at Starbucks for me? ごちそうするから) "Sorry I'm running late, can you meet me at Starbucks? The bill is on me."(ごめん、遅れそう。

*I am sorry but I am running late. Can you please wait for me at Starbucks and I will make it up to you by paying for your coffee.- "make it up to you" is a way to show how sorry you are and you want to do something good for them. Example: A:I am sorry but I am running late. Can you please wait for me at Starbucks and I will make it up to you buy paying for your coffee. B:Okay but don't take too long. A:Thank you for understanding
*I am sorry but I am running late. Can you please wait for me at Starbucks and I will make it up to you by paying for your coffee" (ごめん、少し遅れます。 A:I am sorry but I am running late. Can you please wait for me at Starbucks and I will make it up to you buy paying for your coffee. B:Okay but don't take too long. (いいよ、でもそんなに遅くならないでね) A:Thank you for understanding (ありがとう)

  • So sorry! I'm a little late - can we meet at Starbucks? Should be about 5 minutes.

You're running late for a date, and want to apologize and tell the person to wait at Starbucks and have a coffee. You also want to say that you will pay for the coffee. Well, it's probably not necessary to talk about payment of a coffee at this stage. It seems like a really unnecessary detail - or perhaps you think your date cannot afford a coffee easily? It seems more like an insult. Perhaps she does not want to wait inside on her own. Better to say 'at Starbucks' so she can choose to wait at the entrance if she likes. You should also state how late you are likely to be. Duh!!
