ゴールデンウィークは欧米にはない休日です。
欧米の文化にない概念はだいたい、そのまま言っても大丈夫です。
料理はだいたいそうです。素材をそのまま英語で言うと、魅力がなくなります。
お寿司＝sushi
Raw fish with vinegared rice (あまり美味しくなさそう）
刺身＝sashimi
Slices of raw fish (あまり美味しくなさそう）
ラーメン= ramen
Chinese noodles in a soup (あまり美味しくなさそう）
でもきっと、相手はわかりませんので後で説明しなければいけません。
このことはYudaiさんの英語力の問題ではなく、相手はその概念がわからないという問題です。
ネイティブ同士でさえその問題がよくあります。
例えば、僕の弁護士の姉はいつも弁護士が使う専門用語を使うのですが、僕は意味が全くわからなくて意味を説明してもらわないといけません。

B: What's that?
A: Oh, it's our Spring Vacation
B: Oh I see. Nice!
A: What are you going to do for Golden Week?
B: No plans.
ちなみに、
Vacationはアメリカ英語です。
Holidayはイギリス英語です。

ご存じのとおり、海外にはGWはありませんので、祝日が集まった一週間、という感じで説明するといいでしょう。a collection of ＝「集合した」

You could also give more detail by talking about the days that are national holidays,
