昔であれば昔であるほどって英語でなんて言うの？

少し長い例文ですが― The older the literature, the more likely it was for the characters to turn into werewolves on their own accord. ●the older the literature→古い文学(昔の文学）であればあるほど ●the more likely it was for the characters→登場人物が○○する可能性が高かった ●to turn into werewolves→狼男になる ●on their own accord→自らの意思で 「古い文学であればあるほど、登場人物が自らの意思で狼男になる可能性が高かった（ケースが多かった）。」 Turn intoは、〇→□になること、変わる・変身する、という意味のフレーズです。Becomeと置き換えてもOKです。 On their own accordは、of their own free will、というフレーズと置き換えることができます。どちらも「自らの意思で」という意味です。 ★上記例文のように、「○○であればあるほど、□□になる・である」は 、≪the + 比較級、the ＋ 比較級≫で表します。 例文）The more I worry, the more anxious I get. 「心配すればするほど、不安になる」 例文）The lower your stress level, the better you feel. 「ストレスレベルが低ければ低いほど、気分が良くなる」 少しでもお役に立てれば幸いです。
