  • On reaching the hospital, I realised it was closed due to a national holiday

If one thing is the result or consequence of another thing then you may use the phrase 'due to'. "The game was cancelled due to bad weather."
"The game was cancelled due to bad weather."(試合は悪天候のため中止になりました)

  • I went to the hospital but it wasn't opened because it was a national holiday.

"I went to the hospital but it wasn't opened because it was a national holiday." 'It wasn't opened' is the same as 'closed'. You can also say 'government holiday' or use the name of the holiday to explain it further. (I went to the hospital but it wasn't opened because it was Thanks Giving).
"I went to the hospital but it wasn't opened because it was a national holiday." 例えば: "I went to the hospital but it wasn't opened because it was Thanks Giving."

The phrase "due to" is another way to say "because of." You can use the phrase "national holiday" in both British and American English. I hope that this helps. :)
"due to"は、"because of"(~のせいで)の別の言い方です。 "national holiday"という言葉はイギリス英語でもアメリカ英語でも使われます。 お役に立てると幸いです。

  • When I went to the hospital, I saw that it was closed due to the national holiday.

"Due to," means as a result of. The hospital is not open as a result of the national holiday.
"due to" は 'a result of'(~の結果として)という意味です。 'The hospital is not open as a result of the national holiday.'(病院は祝日で開いていない)ということ。

  • I was at the hospital but it was closed when I got there because it was a national/public holiday

-I went to the hospital but it was close because it was a public holiday (病院に行ったけど祝日で休みだった) -I was at the hospital but it was closed when I got there because it was a national/public holiday (病院に行ったけど祝日で休みだった)
