気まずい空気が流れちゃうこと、ありますよね。そんなときに使える「無理して言わなくていいよ。」英語では以下のような言い方があります。
・You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to.「言いたくなければ言わなくていいよ。」
・You don’t have to put it into words if you don’t want to. 「無理に言葉にしなくていいんだよ。」
また、プライベートなど答えにくそうなことを聞くときに前置きとして”If you don’t mind answering”「もし答えるのが嫌でなかったら」という表現が使えます。
例)
”If you don’t mind answering, can I ask about your job? “
「差し支えなければ、お仕事についてお伺いしてもよろしいですか？」
