ああ、言い忘れるところだった、、って英語でなんて言うの？

話に夢中になってて、うっかりお礼を言い忘れるところでした。
ああ、言い忘れるところだった。先日いただいたお茶、とてもおいしかったです。

ーOh yah, I almost forgot to say thank you for the tea you gave me the other day.
「ああ、先日いただいたお茶のお礼を言い忘れるところでした」
I almost forgot to say ... 「…を言い忘れるところでした」と言えます。

ーOh, that reminds me.  I meant to say thank you for the yummy tea you gave me a few days ago.
「ああ思い出した。数日前にいただいた美味しいお茶のお礼を言いたかったんです」
That reminds me. 「それで思い出した」
I meant to say ... で「…と言おうと思っていた」
