ご質問について、いくつか言い方が考えられますが、例えば、
When I drink apple cider vinegar, I try to avoid it touching my teeth because it will damage them.
とすると、『リンゴ酢を飲む時、歯を傷めるので歯につかないようにしています。』と言えます。また、because it will cause enamel erosion. とすると、『エナメル質の浸食の原因となるから』というようにも言えますね！

I try not to let it touch my teeth when I drink it because it's hard on my teeth.
I just knock it straight back so it won't wear away the enamel on my teeth.
この場合、次のような言い方ができます。
ーI try not to let it touch my teeth when I drink it because it's hard on my teeth.
「歯に良くないので、飲む時に歯につかないようにしている」
to try not to let it touch my teeth で「それが歯につかないようにしている」
hard on my teeth で「歯に良くない」
ーI just knock it straight back so it won't wear away the enamel on my teeth.
「歯のエナメルが剥がれないよう、一気飲みする」
to knock ... straight back で「一気飲みする・がぶ飲みする」
