他に、ネイティヴがよく使うフレーズとして
I'm in the middle of nowhere. も是非覚えてみてください。これは直訳すると「どこでもない場所の真ん中にいる」になります。つまり、目標物や目印となるような物が無い場所を指します。
I'm lost! I'm in the middle of nowhere. I just see houses I have no clue where I am!
迷子になってしまった！周りには目印になるような物は無いし住宅しかない。どこにいるか検討がつかない！
I got lost が一番良く使われる表現だと思います。
「～になった」と表現したい場合は、いつも got を使います。
・I got sick.＝病気した
・I got busy.＝忙しくなった
・I got happy.＝嬉しくなった

When you measure the angle of a certain feature so as to identify your position, this is known as 'taking a bearing.'
