to split some wood
to cut wood
を使って表現できます。
例：
If I don't cut some wood, I'll run out soon.
「薪割りしないと、すぐなくなりそう」
to run out で「尽きる・終わる」
I need to split some more wood, otherwise it won't last much longer.
「もっと薪を割らないとすぐに足りなくなりそう」
to last で「足りる・間に合う」
not ...much longer で「あまり長くない」
