『切れ者』はいくつか言い方がありますが、Sharpを使って、
He is sharp. と言えます。
『彼は社内きっての切れ者だ。』は、
He is the most intelligent guy in the company. といってもよいでしょう。
反対の意味でよく使われるSharpの表現としては、
Not the sharpest tool in the shed.
直訳すると『小屋の中でいちばん鋭い道具ではない』となります。
『鋭くない』ということは『鈍い』とも言えるので、少しユーモアのある表現です。
Mike is not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to cars. He knows next to nothing about them. として
『マイクは車について切れ者だとは言えないな。ほとんど何も知らないからね。』
ということもできます。
