『期初』は、四半期のどこかの期の初めということであれば、
beginning of the quarter
事業年度の初めであれば、
beginning of the fiscal year
と言えます。
例えば、
We secured 3,000,000 yen at the beginning of the second quarter, but the budget has been frozen due to the coronavirus. とすると
『第２四半期の初めには300万円確保していたが、コロナウィルスの影響でその予算は凍結となりました。』と言えます。
