ありがた迷惑とまでは言わなくても、気持ちはうれしいが意味がない・必要のない・受け取ることの出来ない申し出を受けたときに比較的良く使う言葉です。
語呂が良くて若干洒落た言い回しですね。
ただ、よくも悪くも非常に丁寧な表現ですので、むしろありがた迷惑の「迷惑」の部分を強調したいのであれば別の表現の方がいいかもしれませんが。

get in the way = 邪魔になる

accommodationというように、
Accommodate: 宿泊させることができる。という意味を持ちますが、もう１つ、便宜をはかる、親切にしてあげる、という意味があります。行為に対してではなく、人に対してつきます。
He is a nice person, but overly accommodating. 良い人なんだけど、ありがた迷惑なこともあります。
こんな使い方も。

A: I wonder why he doesn't have a girl friend.
なんで彼が彼女いないのかわかんない。
B: He is too accommodating.
良い人過ぎるんだよ。

An unwanted favourは、誰かの優しさからでる行動ですが、あなたがこの人に借りを感じてしまうような行動です。
Unsolicited helpは、あなたが要求していない助けをもらったときに表現できます。
It is very nice when people do things for us but sometimes it is embarrassing when they do too much.. What starts out as being a nice thing can turn very negative.
She has tried very hard to be helpful but she is killing me with kindness.
She is over helpful in fact she is over accommodating and much too helpful.

To kill someone with/by kindness = to cause discomfort to someone by treating him or her in a way that is extremely kind or helpful. "Instead of returning the insult, you might try killing her with kindness.."
We use this expression to explain that someone's good intentions did not have the desired effect and that they are actually causing a problem.
"His mother killed him with kindness and now he's turned out to be a spoilt brat."
To kill someone with/by kindness = 過剰な親切心からすごくおせっかいをかけることで、相手に不愉快な思いをさせることをあらわします。
"Instead of returning the insult, you might try killing her with kindness.."怒りを怒りで返すより、やさしさで返すっていうやりかたもあるぞ。
この表現は、親切心が求める効果を生まないむしろ問題を起こすことを言います。
"His mother killed him with kindness and now he's turned out to be a spoilt brat."
彼女のやさしさが裏目に出て彼は甘ったれ小僧に成長してしまった。
