leave him/her outside the cageで、「ケージの外に出しておく」を表現できます。
He/She is outside the cage.だけでも、ケージの外にいるということは伝わるでしょう。
I take him/her out of the cage in the morning and puts him/her back before I go to bed at night.（朝ウサギをケージから出して、夜寝る前にケージに戻します）
「放し飼い」は英語で「Let him run around the room.」と言います。ウサギがメスなら「her」を使ってください。ウサギは広いところが必要ですから、ケージに入れるとちょっと可哀そうですね。
昼は放し飼いですが、夜はゲージに入れてます。
During the day I let him run around the room, but at night I put him in the cage.
