直腸って英語でなんて言うの？

The rectum（ 直腸は） is the end of the large intestine（ 大腸の最後の部分） and the beginning of the anus（ 肛門まで 続く）.

In recent years（ 最近では） rectal cancer has gotten more attention（ 直腸のがんは メディアやブロガーの集中が集まり） as other forms of cancer have been getting treated more readily than rectal cancer. 他のガンが 直腸がんより 手術などで直したりしているからです）

調べてみましたら rectum が出ました。rectum は anus と同じようなニュアンスですが、anus はどちらかと言えば「肛門」です。rectum はどちらかと言えばその内部の方だと思います。例えば、「肛門癌」は英語で rectal cancer と言います。
