同化って英語でなんて言うの？

一般的に言えば 同化 は英語で assimilation になりますが、この言葉は 日常会話に合いません。

例えば、壁の色と同化する を言いたいなら、assimilate という動詞になれますが、to blend in の方もっと適切です。

私の服の色と壁の色は同じだったから、壁の色と同化しました。
