きれい事って英語でなんて言うの？

きれいごと　は　fine-sounding talk　と言います。 fine-sounding （周りには[立派](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/79862/)に聞こえる）という意味です。 たとえば、 『それはきれいごとにすぎない。だまされないよ。」などは That's just fine-sounding talk. 「きれいごと」を「そういう風には（うまく）いかない」と訳してみました。 All members of the family should cooperate 家族の全員が協力して and live happily together... みんな幸せに暮らすべき… Well, things don't work like that. いや、物事はそういう風にはいかないです。
