「雑記」は miscellaneous note か random note で言えます。
miscellaneous はちょっとかたい表現ですので、会話する時に random（手当たり次第）を使えばいいと思います。
「これはただの雑記だよ」というのは This is just a miscellaneous note か This is nothing more than a random note で表現できます。

miscallaneousという意味は種々雑多なことです。だから、雑記 = Miscallaneous notes.
もしくは、random notesも使います。話すとき、randomはmiscallaneousより自然な単語と思うです。
