半球って英語でなんて言うの？

「Hemisphere」は、まったく同じ意味を持つ文字通りの翻訳です。 「Hemi」はギリシャ語に由来し、「half」を意味しますが、他の多くの言葉で「hemi」を見るのは一般的ではありません。 「Sphere」とは、任意の球を意味します。 しかし、「hemisphere」で使用される場合、通常は世界を指します。 「Japan and England are both in the Northern Hemisphere. but Japan is in the Eastern Hemisphere and England is in the Western Hemisphere」 「日本とイギリスはどちらも北半球にありますが、日本は東半球にあり、イギリスは西半球にあります。」
