ショウリョウバッタの学名は Acrida cinerea と言うようですが、Oriental long-headed grasshopper や Chinese grasshopper とも言われているようです。
ちなみにショウリョウバッタは、ショウジョウバッタとも言います。
例：
My son caught a bunch of Chinese grasshoppers at the park near our house and he doesn't want to let go of them.
「息子が家の近所の公園でたくさんショウジョウバッタを捕まえてきて、逃したくないと言っている。」
