もみじって英語でなんて言うの？

「紅葉」は Japanese Maple Treeと言います。 紅葉狩りは紅葉を取る意味ではないので、「maple leaf picking」（例えば、林檎狩り/apple picking)と言えません。しかも、紅葉狩りの狩りは絶対huntingの意味ではないです。紅葉狩りは目で楽しむことので、viewingという動名詞を使った方がいいです。 例：I enjoyed viewing the maple leaves.

備考：米国の地域によって紅葉があり、もちろんそれを楽しめる人が多いけど、アメリカ英語で「紅葉狩り」のような決まり文句は特にないと思います。調べてみると、"leaf peeping"が出てきましたが、私は紅葉が多いアイオワ州育ちなのに、全く聞いたことない言い方です。 それで、いくつか自然な例文を提案します。 例文："We will go look at the autumn colors of the leaves this weekend."＝「今週末は紅葉狩りに行きます。」 例文："We will go see the fall colors of the leaves this weekend."＝「今週末は紅葉狩りに行きます。」 例文："This weekend we will go to view the leaves changing to autumn colors."＝「今週末は紅葉狩りに行きます。」
