通じを促す薬などを英語で laxative と言います。この総称に浣腸も入りますが、浣腸のことを指す言葉は enema laxative 又は単に enema と言います。例えば、「最近便秘気味だから、浣腸を試してみます」と言いたいなら I'm feeling a bit irregular lately, and so I think I'm going to try an enema と言えます。この irregular は便秘の言い回しです。便秘のことは本当は constipated ですが、その言葉を会話で使うのは英語的にちょっとストレート過ぎです。
