「（高校or大学の）4年生は、下級生の規範とならなければいけない」
＊ senior: 高校 or 大学の4年生
＊ set an example: 規範となる、手本となる
＊ younger: より若い、若年の
＊ student: 学生
set an example は（良き）手本となる、の意味で使われます。同義で be an exemplary figure （模範となるような人物となる）とも言えます。
