「一時間半かかった」というのは、「It took an hour and a half 」だと以前聞いたことがありますが、先日オンライン英会話でフィリピンの講師が、「It is about 1 and a half hour」と言っていました。

従いまして、 a) one and a half hours (1 1/2 hoursと言ってます) b) an hour and 30 minutes c) one point 5 hours この3つがありますが、c) は余り使いません。

[1時間](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/52650/)半は おっしゃるとおり、 an hour and a half でもよいですし、 one and a half hours でもOKです。 この場合は、通常one and a half hours と言います。

  • If you take the train from A to B, the trip will be about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

To "take the train" means to ride the train, usually as a form of transportation rather than leisure. If you are traveling to B from A, the total duration of your trip, or amount of time spent of the train, will be 1 hour and 30 minutes. It is possible that driving or some other means on transportation will take more or less time than the train, but in this scenario, you are referring to the train.

We need to make sure we are clear that the train is the mode of transportation and that it takes an hour and a half to get from point A to point B. That is why the train is the subject and the travel is the conclusion of the sentence.
