「以前、私が働いていた会社」はthe company where I used to workとかthe company I was (previously) working atと言います。previouslyは入れなくてもいいですが入れたら間違えなく「過去」という意味が通じます。
I had that experience (その経験があった）とI had the same experience (同じ経験があった）がちょっと違いますがどっちでも使えると思います。Sara様の場合では友達と同じ経験について話したそうですので、I had the same experienceの方がいいでしょうか。

I went through something just like that at my old job.
この場合、次のような言い方ができますよ。
ーI had a similar experience at the company I worked at before.
「私も以前働いていた会社で、似たような経験をしました」
to have a similar experience で「似たような経験をする」
ーI went through something just like that at my old job.
「私の前の職場で、私もそのようなことを経験しました」
to go through で「体験する・経験する」
