センターって英語でなんて言うの？

何かの中心をさす英語ですと、いくつもありますが、ここでは2つ紹介します。

まずは「Core」。
「中核」の事ですが、以下のように使います：
- The core business of the company is managed by the finance department

もっと美的な表現をするなら、「Heart」があります。
- The core members of the company all left last month. That ripped the heart out of the company.

英語ではセンターだけを使うと中心という意味になります。
office/department/devisionを追加しなければなりません。

center, central, あるいはmainといいます。

例）

The planning dept. is central in deciding company policy
企画部が会社の方針を決めるセンターです。

The human resources department is the center where hiring decisions are made
人事部は雇用に関する事を決定するセンター

The accounting dept. is the main dept. for keeping track of the company's money
経理部は会社のお金を管理するセンターです

会社で中心となる部分や部署のことは英語でcenter of やmain officeです。例えば：
The company’s center of research is located in the Yokohama branch office. （会社の研究センターは横浜の支所にあります。
This is the main office for research and development. （これは研究開発のセンターです。）
