I'm studying with the goal of getting my first level of the Eiken test.

「英検１級合格を狙っています。」
aim には「銃などで狙う」という意味と、目標などをめざすというニュアンスの「狙う」という意味もあります。
2) I'm studying with the goal of getting my first level of the Eiken test.
「英検１級取得を目標に勉強しています。」
with the goal of getting my first level で「一級取得を目標に」となり「一級取得を狙って」というニュアンスになります。

「狙う」という言葉を英語で表すと、「aim for」という表現を使っても良いと考えました。「for」の代わりに、「at」という言葉も使っても良いです。意味が変わりません。「Strive for」または「strive to」という表現も使っても良いと考えました。例えば、「I’m aiming for a promotion.」と「I’m striving for a promotion.」と言っても良いです。「Promotion」は「昇進」という意味があります。
狙うは英語で"to aim"になります。
今、使ってくれた「狙う」は英語で同じ使い方もあります。
「英検１級取得を狙って勉強しています」
"I'm aiming to obtain level one of the English proficiency test"
後、
"My goal is to obtain level one of the English proficiency"
私の目的は英検１級を取得することです。
狙うは英訳すると、いろいろな言い方が出てきます。
怪しい人の言い訳や作り話と聞いてから「何を狙ってるんですか？」と聞きたいとき、What are you getting at? と言えます。
けど、言語を学ぶについて話は、to aim to do または to work towards という表現が使えます。
英検１級取得を狙っています。
I'm aiming to pass the Level 1 Eiken.
英検１級取得を狙って勉強しています。
I'm studying in order to reach Level 1 on the Eiken.
「習う」は英語で aim と言います。これは動詞です。
Aim と一緒に使う前置詞は for です。
なので、「○○を狙う」は aim for ○○ というパターンになります。
例えば「英検１級取得を狙っています」と言いたいなら、 I'm aiming for level 1 of the Eiken と言えます。
