「投与」は英語でprescribe medicineかadminister medicineと言います。「投与」はよく英語で動詞として使います。prescribeは「処方する」の意味と近いです。giveという言葉も使えます。「与える」は英語でgiveという意味がありますので、「投与」の場合にも使えます。ちなみに、「薬」や「投薬」は英語でmedicineかmedicationと言います。
例：
The doctor prescribed medicine for the patient’s pain.
医者が患者の痛みのために薬を投与しました。
He administered medicine to the patient.
彼は患者に薬を投与しました。
Everyday the nurses administer medication to the patients of the hospital multiple times a day.
毎日看護師たちは病院の患者に1日に複数回薬を投与します。
「投与する」は administer を使って言います。
「薬を患者に投与する」なら administer medicine to a patient となります。
The doctor administered an anesthetic to the patient.
「医師は患者に麻酔薬を投与した。」
または give を使っても言うことができます。
give a patient IV で「点滴を投与する」
The nurse gave the patient IV.
「看護師は患者に点滴を投与した。」
