漢字を読み替える
日本語に詳しくない人と話すなら、「漢字・kanji」の代わりにchinese characterを使うといいと思います。
ご参考になれば幸いです。
「読み替え」の名詞いなら"alternate reading"か"alternative reading"といいます。（意味は一緒です。）
例えば、
"I don't know the alternate reading for this kanji."
「この漢字の読み替えは分かりません。」
「読み替える」の動詞ならどちらかと一緒に"use"を使うと大丈夫です！
例えば、
"You have to use the alternative reading for this kanji here."
「ここはこの漢字を読み替えなければなりません。」
