〜is on：〜が作用している状態
もちろん逆は”〜is off”です。
また、”here”や”there”は基本的に前置詞を伴わないで
表現できますと習った方も多いかと思います。
”It’s hot in here.”で「この部屋の中は暑い」としましたが、
これは部屋の「中」が暑いことを強調して”in here”と表しています。
参考までに、このように「ここ」だけではなく
具体的にどこなのかを強調したいときに
”out here”で「ここ室外は」
”up there”で「その高いところは」
などと言うこともありますよ！

The heat from the cooking is stronger than the AC. It's so hot!
sweating bullets: is a common phrase used by English speaking people to indicate that they're sweating a lot and that the environment they're in is very hot.
The second phrase explains how the heat coming from the stove that's cooking the food is very strong that the AC isn't cooling it fast enough.
