この場合、次のような言い方ができますよ。

ーCan I take those paintings off the wall and put them on the desk over here, then check them?　
「あの絵を壁から外して、この机に置いて点検をしてもいいですか？」
to take ... off the wall「…を壁から外す」
to put ... on the desk「…を机の上に置く」
to check「点検する」と言えます。
