The cellphone wasn't in the 19 century.

  • CellPhones did not exist in the 19th century but today they are everywhere.

  • Cellphones only came around in the 20th century but became very popular very quickly.

  • People now days cant live without a cellphone unlike the people before the 20th century.

"CellPhones did not exist in the 19th century but today they are everywhere." This explains that cell phones were only invented after the 19th century but it has become normal for everyone to have one nowadays. "Cellphones only came around in the 20th century but became very popular very quickly." This explains that Cellphones were invented in the 20th century so are fairly new but most people have one. "People now days cant live without a cell phone, unlike the people before the 20th century." This explains that people rely on cell phones for their daily lives but people before the 20th century didn't do this.
"CellPhones did not exist in the 19th century but today they are everywhere." "Cellphones only came around in the 20th century but became very popular very quickly." "People now days can't live without a cell phone, unlike the people before the 20th century."

  • a leading technology

  • In the 19th century Cell phones were a pipe dream...today they are a leading technology

Almost everything is done on the moble phone these days...its hard to believe how we could get along with out them.... Yet not so long ago they were just a "pipe dream" ...an imagined future...Today they are ubiquitous and considered to be "a leading technology:" "In the 19th century Cell phones were a pipe dream...today they are a leading technology"
【例】 "In the 19th century Cell phones were a pipe dream...today they are a leading technology" (19世には携帯電話は幻想でしたが、今日はこれらは先導的技術です)

  • Mobile phones didn't exist in the 19th century, nowadays we cannot live without them.

  • Since mobile phones were invented, they have become very advanced and now we use them for everything.

This phrase explains that people did not have mobile phones in the 19th century but now we do, we cannot live without them. We like to use our phones for everything we do in every day life, e.g. diary, communication, photos, etc. It is hard to think about a life without a phone. Which is why many people say - "I can't live without my phone" "I'm lost without my phone"
【例】 diary(日記), communication(連絡のやり取り), photos(写真), etc. "I can't live without my phone" (携帯無しでは生きられない) "I'm lost without my phone" (携帯が無かったら途方に暮れてしまう)

  • Cellphones were nonexistent in the 19th century but now they are proliferant

  • Unlike the 19th century, cellphones now form part of our everyday lives.

Proliferant - abundant Nonexistent - not existing or not real or present, imaginary, imagined, unreal, fictional, fictitious, made up, invented, hypothetical, suppositional, fancied, fanciful; fantastic, fantasy, mythical, mythological, legendary; illusory, illusive, hallucinatory, chimerical, figmental, notional, shadowy, spectral, ghostly, insubstantial; missing, absent; rarephantasmal, phantasmic; inexistent, illusionary, unsubstantial "She pretended to tie a non-existent shoelace." "She carefully brushed a non-existent piece of lint from her skir.t"
【例】 "She pretended to tie a non-existent shoelace." (彼女は目に見えない靴ひもを結んでるふりをした) "She carefully brushed a non-existent piece of lint from her skirt" (彼女はスカートの存在しない糸くずを丁寧にブラシをかけた)

  • Cellphones were not around in the 19th century, but now they are part of everyday life.

  • In the 19th century, no one had ever heard of a cellphone, but today no one call live without one.

"Cellphones were not around in the 19th century, but now they are part of everyday life." 'Not around' is a casual way of saying that something did not exist. In this instance, it is that the cell phone did not exist in the 19th century. In contrast this sentence states they are now something we use all the time. "In the 19th century, no one had ever heard of a cellphone, but today no one call live without one." No one had ever heard of the idea of something that you could carry with your and talk to a person on the other side of the world, was a strange idea. It was something not really talked about or heard about.
"Cellphones were not around in the 19th century, but now they are part of everyday life." "In the 19th century, no one had ever heard of a cellphone, but today no one call live without one."

  • Cell phones didn't exist in the 19th century but now they are a huge part of society.

  • Cell phones didn't exist in the 19th century but now they are a huge part our lives.

  • Society didn't have cellphones in the 19th century but now they are a huge part our lives.

In the first two examples we can see that we can interchangeably talk about, "society," and, "our lives," because we are both refer to everyone in the world today. We can also use society as the head of the sentence when referring to what, "they didn't have," back in the 19th century.
