Drizzle/ light rain means that it is only raining a little bit, or sprinkling. You can say something, "It is drizzling out", "There is a light rain", or "It is raining a little” to say there isn't a lot of rain, only a little.
・It is drizzling.
・There is a light rain.
It is raining a little.
Drizzle' has the meaning of light but persistent rain and this word would not be used if the rain is very light, for example, when there are just a few specks of rain appearing on your windscreen as you are driving.
The third example is an informal idea.
The two sentences you see provided above are terrific ways to express to your listener what light rain is. In the first sentence you will notice the word sprinkle. This word means light rain. This is a word we use a lot and it would make a great addition to your vocabulary.
Other ways of saying that it is raining slightly is:
"It is drizzling." This means that the rain is very light, almost invisible but there is still water in the air.
"A light shower." This phase is referring to the rain as similar to that of a shower, where water is falling from above. The fact that it is light means that the rain is not heavy.
"It is drizzling."
"A light shower."
When it is not raining too hard, then you can call that "light rain" or "drizzle".
For example, you can say:
-I don't like it when it drizzles because it can go on all day.
-I prefer light rain to heavy rainfalls because I ride a bicycle to work.
-It's been drizzling all day.
-I don't like it when it drizzles because it can go on all day.
-I prefer light rain to heavy rainfalls because I ride a bicycle to work.
-It's been drizzling all day.
To say it's drizzling/spitting with rain means that there is only little sprinkling or little bits of rain
Light rain means there is slightly more rain but still not heavy
So you could say ' It's drizzling with rain today'
「It's drizzling/spitting with rain」
'It's drizzling with rain today'
