 なお、その翻訳を使いたくない場合は"the school from which I graduated"と言えます。

In the UK, if you use the verb 'to graduate' it infers graduation from a university. In the UK we do not 'graduate' from Secondary or High School as in the US. A student who has completed a course of study at Secondary School is simply an 'ex-student' of that school. There is an assumption that every undergraduate at university will successfully complete their course, so you can simply refer to the university from which you graduated as 'my university' or 'university,' or 'uni'.
"I studied law whilst at uni."
(例文)"I studied law whilst at uni."(私は大学で法律を学びました)

Alma mater is the school you graduated from. This is not very common to say in some parts of the United States. More commonly, you will hear people say, "At my former high school, I graduated first in my class." Or you will hear people say, "At my former university, I participated in many volunteer activities." If you say "alma mater" in certain regions, they will first think of the school's song. Alma mater is more closely associated as the song of the school.
"At my former high school, I graduated first in my class."

"At my former university, I participated in many volunteer activities."

In the US they use the term 'alma mater'to refer to the last school/college/university they went to.
In the UK we use the term 'former' to say the one we went to before so you would say 'former school/college/university'
When someone finished university we also use the term 'Graduated' so you would say 'I graduated from university last week'
'former school/college/university'

'I graduated from university last week'

Your alma mater is your old school, college or university. It's generally used as a positive term, implying reverence and loyalty for the nurturing qualities of the educational institution. Alma mater comes from two Latin words meaning "nourishing or bountiful mother. Often, it is used in English when referring to top universities such as Oxford and Cambridge in Britain or Ivy League universities in America. An example of usage might be “when he got a call from his alma mater, he was very happy to return in a teaching role.”

“When he got a call from his alma mater, he was very happy to return in a teaching role.”

Whilst the term 'school' is generally understood to be any place of education, you would use the term alma mater to descibe a place of higher education such as a university or college rather than high school.
Alma mater is a Latin term which is more commonly used in American than British speech. If you used it in the UK you might be seen as a little pretentious and it would be more common just to talk of 'my university' or 'the university I attended'.
It can also be used to refer to the official school song

my university'(私の大学)や'the university I attended'(私が通った大学)の方がより一般的だと思います。
