Shop
Store

"Store" is more commonly used in American English.
A Store is normally BIGGER than a shop and will sell more items and have a bigger variety.
A Shop is smaller place where you can get the basic things you will need and will stock fewer brands.
shop especially in British English, store especially in American English
British English has the word "superstore"

Many English terms have been modified or supplanted by Americanisms:-)
"Pants" are trousers in England. (Pants in England are underwear ;-)
A buggy in America is a PRAM in England (Short for Perambulator)
Please be aware of the correct terms when spending time in these 2 similar
yet different cultural settings...
'a store' in the UK is a place where we keep things. For example, a shop may well have a store at the back of the shop where additional products are kept to refill the shelves of the shop. Excess stock may be kept here. 'To store' something means to put an item away until it is needed.
I'm going to the grocery store today to do the weekly shopping
"Shop" is used more often in the UK and Ireland, whereas "store" can be heard in the US and Canada almost predominantly. However, it is not uncommon to hear "store" in the UK and Ireland.
A shop is a smaller establishment. It may sell things like milk, bread, sweets, crisps, and cigarettes but it wouldn't have all the items that we can buy in a supermarket.
A store is a bigger establishment. It can refer to a clothes store, a grocery store or even a cafe.
These 2 words are used interchangeably in everyday English. To be honest, native speakers really do not know the difference between the 2.
There is a small difference between the 2 words: shop usually describes a small store (that could be owned by a family) and a store is usually bigger (like a supermarket or chain store).
Shop and store mean the same thing really, except shop is used in the UK and store is used in the USA.
Shop is also a verb, so you can ‘shop’ or ‘go shopping’ at a shop/store.
