tend to~ は ～することが多い/思いがち という意味です。
He tends to drink a lot on Fridays. 彼は金曜日にたくさん飲みことが多い。

翻訳は、translate, 因みに 通訳 は interpret です。

assume は 証拠が無いけど決める という意味です。
