  • I want to reserve seats at the bar.

こんにちは。質問ありがとうございます。 I want to reserve → 予約したい seats → 席(複数形) at the bar → バーの、(カウンター席) レストランの「カウンター」はbarと言い、「カウンター席」はseat at the barなどと言います。 レストランのカウンターは、普通その裏にウエイターなどが回り込み、ドリンクなどを用意できる「バー」barなので、「カウンター」counterではなく、barと呼びます。 またの質問をお待ちしています。

  • I would like to reserve two seats at the bar, please.

  • I would like to reserve space at the bar please.

When we would like a certain table/seat kept open for us at a restaurant, we usually call to make a "reservation". When you call, you would use either one of the above sentences when asked where you would like to sit. 1) I would like to reserve two seats at the bar, please.- this example is specific on how many people will be joining you at the bar. 2) I would like to reserve space at the bar.- This example is not specific on the number of seats and could be used when you are not sure how many friends will join you. When you say this, you could add on "for about 4 people". You use the word "about" to indicate that you are not entirely sure, but no more than 4 people would join you.

  • I would like to reserve 2 seats at the bar please.

If you would like to tell someone that you want to reserve 2 seats at the bar when making a reservation, you can say something like "Can you please help me reserve 2 seats at the bar please?". By saying specifically "at the bar", this tell the other person that you specifically want your reserved seats to be AT THE BAR.

  • I'd like to reserve 2 seats at the bar

  • I'd like to reserve two bar stools

The type of seating usually placed in front of a bar is 'a bar stool'. If you reserve 'two bar stools' then they should be two seats at the bar. Of course it is possible that 'bar stools' may be placed in other locations, but normally, they would be found at the bar in a a pub, bar or cafe.

  • I'd like to book seats at the bar if possible.

  • Please reserve my seats at the bar.

1. I'd like to book seats at the bar if possible. ''To book" means to reserve and it's always polite to request politely by saying something like, '' I would like to''. The phrase, ''if possible'' means that you will be happy if they can accommodate your request but if it's not possible, then you will understand. 2. Please reserve my seats at the bar. ''To reserve" means that you would like them to keep/hold your seats for you and in this case obviously, that place is the bar.

You may use any of the above two sentences when making a reservation at a restaurant. Examples; A; Hi there, I would like to make a reservation. B; Great, would you like to sit a table or at the bar? A; I would like to reserve two bar seats please. B; Sure, no problem. Two bar seats are reserved just for you.

  • Can I reserve two seats at the bar please?

  • I'd like to sit at the bar please.

You can say where you want to sit when making the reservation. Example: I would like to reserve two seats at the bar for 8 pm, please. Or you can wait to be asked where you would like to sit. Example: A: Hi, I'd like to make a reservation for 2 people at 8 pm please. B: Sure, would you like to sit at the bar or a table? A: At the bar please. B: No problem. See you at 8!
