数学者って英語でなんて言うの？

まず、数学は英語で普通に「math」と言います。
「math」は「mathematics」の省略です。

「○○者」と「○○家」は英語でよく「○○ician」の形になります。
例えば：
「統計学」→　statistics　「統計学者」→　statistician
「音楽」　→　music　　 「音楽家」　→　musician
「政治」　→　politics 　 「政治家」　→　politician

だから、
「数学」　→　mathematics 「数学者」→　mathematician
