辞書で「かざす」はhold upに訳されているかもしれません。1番目の回答英文ではhold upを使いましたが2番目のscanの方が自然だと思います。

tap はタッチパネルなどのデバイスに指で軽く触れたり、カードを軽く触れる行為のことを言います。

hold one's card over ... で「…にカードをかざす」と言えます。
